In the next 5 minutes, I will share with you what I think destroys most entrepreneurs, and that is analysis paralysis.
Back in March of 2017, my husband and I went through an experience that really changed our lives. He was working as a nurse practitioner, I was working as a corporate marketing consultant and one day our son, who was 18 years old at the time, was on his way home and a car turned in front of him on his motorcycle, and he had a really bad accident. So bad in fact that he was in I.C.U. for 37 days and he was in a coma for almost seven months.
In that period of time, our world changed entirely.
We moved states, we just jumped through a lot of hoops, my husband and I did not work for 10 months. We were able to be at his bedside and support our younger kids to cope with everything that had happened. And when our son woke up from his coma, we were able to help him re-learn how to walk and re-learn how to talk and we were able just to be there through that whole process and really spend that time with our family when we needed to.
In that season of our lives, we saw a lot of parents that didn’t. I can actually remember sitting in the waiting room one day and there was a woman that was next door to us whose young son had been in an ATV accident and he was in a coma, and he had been in a coma for a long time. They were from a different state, and she wasn’t able to move and stay like we did. And so she had to travel back and forth and I could see every time that she left, how it tore her apart and she wasn’t there when her son. And he was very, very scared.
I remember that moment and that experience and I knew right then that whenever I came back into work, instead of consulting and helping these big corporations to make more hundreds of millions of dollars, that I really wanted to dedicate my life to helping small business owners and
To help them employ the actual tactics, the real strategies, the real tools that will help them to actually grow.
I think there’s a lot of noise and a lot of junk in this space that is not actually going to help people.

Today we’re going to talk about what is commonly referred to as analysis paralysis.
When you have taken in so much information so you’ve consumed so many courses or so many
trainings, you’ve read so many books, and you have all of these ideas but you don’t know where to start.
You have so much information that you are paralyzed.
You cannot move forward with anything because you literally just don’t know where to start. You don’t know which way to go, how to move forward.
There is a concept called the entrepreneurial
You go into the amusement park and then all the sudden you look around and you don’t know which way to go. There’s a lot of different rides you can ride, and you are just not sure where you should go.
What happens then in this entrepreneurial amusement park is that a lot of times you have these gurus and these so-called experts that really don’t have a clue what they’re doing, will come up and say, hey, you want to get 10,000 followers on Instagram, I can show you the way. Or you want to learn how to launch a webinar and make $1,000,000 in 15 minutes, I can show you the way.
It’s the equivalent of saying, hey, come here and get on my ride.
This is what I call the entrepreneurial
You’re looking around, and you don’t know what to do this guru comes up and is like hey, I can help you. Come get on my
So that’s what happens. And you think that it’s going work.
You get on this entrepreneurial
Let’s say you go around one time and you learn how to write Facebook ad copy. And you say to yourself: I learned how to write Facebook ad copy, I’m going to get off the
However, when you try to get off the
Because something’s changed in the park.
Not only do you need to know how to write this Facebook ad copy
You go around one more time, and then you get off of the course and you try to go implement what you’ve learned. But this guru says again, no, sit back down, because there’s something else.
There’s always something else.
The problem with these gurus and these
experts, is that they don’t give you what you actually need to grow your business.
They keep giving you these little bitty dots, these little bitty pieces of what you need, instead of just simplifying the process.
The reason that I think most of them don’t simplify the process and get you in the action first and get you to cash flow, is because they don’t know how.
Because they don’t know how.
The only way to succeed as an entrepreneur and the only way to succeed in
You have to get off that
You have to get into action.
All the other stuff is going to do is to put you into what we call analysis paralysis.
You’re just standing there. You’re like, okay, well I know all these different things about these different rides, but I don’t know where to go.
And that’s the analysis paralysis.
That is when you have too much information.
That is when you are overwhelmed with the information.
Don’t know where to start?
I’m going to tell you the biggest secret that I have learned and that I have implemented in my business and it’s the one thing that I can tell you has changed everything.
Success in business is about trying things that you don’t know are going to work or not. The people that are really successful: they’re going to try something and if it fails, they’re going to do it again, and they’re going to do it again, and they’re going to tweak it and they’re going do it again and they’re going to tweak it and they’re going do it again until they find something that works.
Maybe webinars aren’t going to work for you. Maybe Facebook ads aren’t going to work for you. Maybe writing a blog isn’t going to work for you. Maybe doing videos isn’t going to work for you. Maybe live speaking engagements isn’t going to work for you.
You’ve got a lot of people out there that are teaching things, based on what worked for them. And the thing about that is that, just because it worked for someone else, doesn’t mean it’s gonna work for you.
Your business is different, your market is different, your message is different, your pact is different, everything is different for you,
So unless you’re really working with someone who understands marketing and creates a custom plan for you, you’re going to be frustrated, you’re going to not experience the same results, and you’re not going to understand why.
And a lot of people fall into this trap of thinking it’s about them, but it’s really, really not.
The only way to get out of analysis
paralysis, is by taking action.
It is by putting one foot in front of the other and taking action. And being okay, with failing your way forward and knowing that everything you do is not going to work. And that you’re going to have to tweak, and you’re going to mess up, and it’s okay. It’s okay to be perfectly imperfect.
It’s never going to come out exactly how you think it’s going to come out. It’s just not. It’s not going to happen. The best thing that you can do, is to get into action now.
Every day you pick one step and you take it and you keep doing that every day and if it doesn’t work, you figure it out. You tweak it, you customize, you do something that’s going to work for you, and you continue to do it again and again and again. Because there’s no black and white, there’s no right or wrong answer.
That’s just not how it works.
It’s all about failing your way forward.
