So there’s one thing that I’ve seen a lot of people doing here lately, and it’s trying to be visible on every platform. You’re trying to be visible on Instagram and on Twitter and on Snapchat and you’re running your email lists and you’re trying to do blogs and you’re trying to get all this traffic from all of these different sources. But ultimately, none of it’s really working. You may be spending 20 hours a week trying to write and generate content and in between that maybe you are posting on Facebook and you’re writing your content there, and all of that stuff, but none of it really seems to be working.
One of the most effective things you can do as an entrepreneur, is to make sure that your time is making you money. So always remember that you have a very, very finite amount of time. We all have 24 hours in a day, seven days in a week. But your amount of money is never finite, it’s always going to go up and down. So you want to make sure that you’re spending your time wisely. And what I’ve seen a lot of people do is they’ll post on Instagram for a while, they’ll post on Facebook for a while, they’ll post on Twitter for a while, they’ll do blogging for a while, but ultimately, they don’t stick with anything consistently. And that is the key to success. That is the key to really, really building a significant online brand and a business that goes along with it.
Think of it this way, imagine that you have a big, huge mansion. And that is the equivalent of the online world, right? We have a big, huge mansion that has a lot of different rooms in it. And it’s the same thing online. We have a lot of different rooms
But if you run from room to room to room, as if you’re running from room to room to room in a mansion, and you’re just flinging open the doors and you’re just shouting into the room how awesome you are and there’s all these people that are in the room, and you fling open the doors, you shout how awesome you are, and then all of a sudden, you run away and you go over to the next room, these people are just going to look at you like you’re absolutely crazy. They’re not going to build any kind of relationship with you and ultimately they’re not going to buy from you.
So you want to pick a room, one room, go into that room, sit down, build relationships, get to know people and connect so that you can build the business and brand that you want.
